Hello, wonderful year 5s,
I hope you had a nice weekend and stayed nice and warm and dry. Or if you did go jumping in any puddles, I hope you were wearing your wellies!
I have uploaded work that you can get through onto our page as usual. This week I have posted up a song for you to try and learn to sing. It's definitely a song I really like and I am sure you have heard of it before... but I wonder if any of you know what actually made the song famous... 🤔
If you would like to learn the song, go ahead and have a go! But please send me a video so I can sing along too :)
There are lots of things going on in our world right now that you might have heard of on the news or from your parents. A lot of these things are to do with racism which, in all forms, is wrong. This week I have added an activity about a woman named Harriet Tubman and a man named Martin Luther King Jr. Both of them have very important stories and are significant people in the world's history. I hope you enjoy reading and learning about them.
Once again, if you have any questions, concerns, queries, or just want to say hello you can reach me at email@example.com
Have a wonderful week,
Miss Radha 🌻
This week, I thought it might be fun to try and learn a new song. This song is called Eye of the Tiger. I am sure you have heard it before. Listen to the song and think about these questions:
- Do you like the song?
- What can you hear?
- What do you think is the style of this music?
- How is the song put together (are there choruses, verses, hooks?)
- What do you think the lyrics mean?
- Ask mum or dad or whoever is at home if they have heard this song before
If you would like to go further you can do a little bit of research to find:
- Who sings this song?
- Why is this song so famous?
If you do end up learning the song (or even adding in some actions - don't forget to film it and send me a video of you!)
Wanted Poster Art
For this piece of art could you create a wanted poster for a real-life bad guy? This could be someone who litters all the time, a school bully or even an annoying brother or sister who steals all your favourite snacks!
Then, write me a short story about this real-life bad guy. Describe what they look like, who they are, when do they commit crimes, where do they commit crimes, why do they commit their crime? And do they get caught and punished at the end?
