Thank you to all of you who have sent me work this week - you continue to impress with your efforts. I have added a web page with spellings for you to practise. It is always good to work on spellings - you know which ones you find tricky - so choose a spelling pattern to work on - use some of the activities (which I've also posted) to practise them.

We now have enough players to feature on the leaderboard and we are in 8th place!! Well done Year 5 blush The competition continues until 8pm tonight - let's make St Meryl Year 5 the team to beat!

Check out the new webpage with lots of different STEM projects for you to choose from - look on the main Year 5 page. There are plenty of different topics for you to choose from - so something for everyone. You can do as many as you like - but not all at once!

A Sticky Problem - Science Investigation

Monday 27th April 2020

Dear Year 5,

Welcome back to our second week of the summer term home learning.

I have set you some more English, Maths, Art and Science activities. Please complete as much as you can, but don't worry if you are not able to complete everything, just do the best you can. If you have any questions, please do ask for help. The work that I have set is in PDF format, but please don't feel that you need to print them out. Work can be completed in the books given out before lockdown, or on paper. If you did other activities that you would like to share, you are very welcome to send them in too.

Don't forget to use the Sumdog website for practising your maths skills - there's another challlenge and it would be great if St Meryl and especially Year 5 were on the leader boards. Sumdog have also given free access to other areas of their website, so you can practise your grammar and spelling too. Looking forward to hearing from you all soon - please send all communications (pictures/ emails/videos etc) to and I will add them to our Year 5 page.

Make sure you stay safe and healthy,

Take care,

Mrs Zrihen
