Then Mr Miles, Mrs O'Brien, Miss Murphy and Mrs Pow (some of our parents) brought in their pre-school children so we could compare and contrast. Thanks Miss Pomfret and parents!

    Friday

Year 4 participated in an Indian dance workshop today as part of their unit of work on India. It was brilliant!

And then it was golden time and Mr Joyce brought the tent INSIDE the dining room! It was so much fun. We also had children making fat balls for the birds and pom poms with Mrs Hameer. See our pictures below.

A cold and frosty week at St M! Despite this we have enjoyed playing and learning inside and out as usual.

On Thursday Year 6 performed their class assembly to the rest of the school and parents. They took us back in time to Tudor England and entertained us with their versions of Romeo and Juliet including an impressive range of Shakespearean insults! They performed a song for us whilst playing ukuleles and Mr Davies played his guitar. It was AWESOME!

Also on Thursday Year 4 participated in an indoor athletics event at Merchant Taylors' school.

    Thursday

It was out first class assembly of the term and 2019 and it was the turn of our Nursery children! Everyone was so impressed with how confident they were. They counted to 10 in Spanish and every child told us about their painting. Mrs Geddes is so, so, so proud of the children! Well done!

  • Week beginning 10th December

    Monday

Christmas show week! Today was our dress rehearsal. Will it all come together tomorrow........?

    Tuesday and Wednesday

Yes it did! This year our production is called 'The Christmas Commercial Catastrophe.' As usual the show is entirely scripted by teachers with Year 6 doing the links. Each class re-created a famous Christmas commercial. We had Elton John (not the real one!), Mr and Mrs Claus, the Bear and the Hare and Paddington to name but a few characters. Feedback from some parents was that it was our best show ever! Well done everyone!

Later that evening the choir performed again at the Carpenders Park Community Centre. This is an annual favourite for us and once again the children were amazing. Mrs Geddes was very proud.

    Thursday

Zoe and Mrs Geddes took the choir out again, this time to perform at Northwick Park Day Care Centre. We had such a fun afternoon, singing carols and even doing some Christmas dancing!

    Friday

Today we sprung a surprise assembly and party for three members of staff; Mrs O'Connor, Mrs Richardson and Mrs Ferrier to celebrate the fact that they have been working at St Meryl for 20 years. They were super surprised with their flowers and books.

What a busty week at our lovely school!

  • Week beginning 12th November

Sun 18 Nov 2018 Mrs Geddes

This week we celebrated anti-bullying week and Children in Need.

On Monday we wore odd socks to school to remind us that being different and not-quite-perfect is a good thing!

We raised lots of money during the week for Children in Need by making and selling cakes. It was a tough week for Mrs Geddes: she had to taste all of the cakes in order to judge the winners!
